Homemade hummus & DESSERT hummus recipes


TRADITIONAL GARLIC HUMMUS

1 -15oz can garbanzo beans (chickpeas)

2 garlic cloves

1 T. olive oil

1 t. parsley

1 t. paprika (optional)

1/2 t. salt

2 T. tahini (optional)

3 T. lemon juice


Place everything in a blender and pulse until smooth. Serve with carrots, pita chips, etc. Store in the fridge up to two weeks. Enjoy!


SNICKERDOODLE HUMMUS

1 - 15 oz can garbanzo beans

1/4 c. almond butter (or cashew)

1/4 c. maple syrup

1/2 t. molasses

2 t. cinnamon

1 t. vanilla

1/8 t. baking powder

1/8 t. salt

2 T. milk, to thin as needed


Place everything in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add more milk if needed to thin the mixture. Serve with carrots, pita chips, etc. Store in the fridge up to two weeks. Enjoy!


CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH HUMMUS

1 - 15 oz can garbanzo beans

1/2 c. cashews

1/4 c. + 2 T. maple syrup

2 t. vanilla

3 T. rolled oats

1/8 t. salt

1/4 c. chocolate chips


Place everything in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add more syrup if needed to thin the mixture. Serve with carrots, pita chips, etc. Store in the fridge up to two weeks. Enjoy!


CAKE BATTER HUMMUS

1 - 15 oz can garbanzo beans

1/4 c. flour (heat treated at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, if desired)

2 T. sugar

1 T. maple syrup

1 T. vanilla

1/4 t. salt

2 T. milk

sprinkles (optional)


Place everything in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add more milk if needed to thin the mixture. Serve with carrots, pita chips, etc. Store in the fridge up to two weeks. Enjoy!


CHOCOLATE HUMMUS

4 T. maple syrup

1/2 t. vanilla

1/4 t. salt

4 T. unsweetened baking cocoa

2 T. water (optional)


Place everything in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add more water if needed to thin the mixture. Serve with carrots, pita chips, etc. Store in the fridge up to two weeks. Enjoy!
