St. Patrick's Day cupcake decorating with kids



Vanilla Cake Recipe: 1 c. milk ¾ c. or 6 egg whites 1 t. vanilla ½ t. almond flavor 4 t. baking powder 1 ¾ c. sugar 2 ¼ c. flour ¾ c. softened butter

Mix milk, egg whites, flavorings, baking powder, sugar and flour in a stand mixer. Combine well. Add in softened butter just until incorporated. Butter pieces should be the size of a pea. Pour in to paper lined muffin pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 minutes. Allow to cool before decorating.


Chocolate Cake Recipe: 3 c. sugar 3 c. flour 1 ½ c. cocoa powder 4 eggs 2 t. baking powder 1 t. salt 1 ½ c milk 1 ½ c warm water ½ c oil 2 t. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together in stand mixer and combine well – about 2 minutes at medium speed. Pour in to paper lined muffin pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 13 minutes. Allow to cool before decorating.


Buttercream Recipe: 2 c. softened butter 1 jar marshmallow fluff 4 lbs powdered sugar Flavoring / color of choice In stand mixer, beat softened butter on medium speed for about a minute. Slowly add in half of the powdered sugar. Add in marshmallow fluff. Add remaining powdered sugar. If too thick, add in a dash of milk or milk substitute and mix. Repeat if needed until desired consistency.
